Boston Bobby ended up a non runner, Suile Ban placed and we had a close call on our first Reverse Forecast with More Info placing third and Hidalo Des Mottes placing fourth. This means we actually would have lost 0.20 of a point on the day but I am more than happy with the days work. 🙂
There is nothing of note for tomorrow but we will be back on Thursday.

Firstly thanks to Stan for a correction on my appaling maths in the last post and I have corrected the figures which actually work to our favour.

That was a cracking day at the office considering this was our first test of the new direction.

Baltic Bird won by a country mile and although ended up being a single due to Sidiriya not running the bet still made a nice +3 point profit.
Cosmic Blizzard made the thread a tidy +3.2 point profit and for those who followed our personal wagers the other two bets paid out +4.2 point profit and a +5 point profit. For those who also watched the race you could have got 400-1 at one point before the race and 35-1 for 9 places.
As for tomorrow over at Roscommon we have a few options which are listed below
5.30 Suile Ban 50-1 but we have taken 14-1 for 10 places
6.00 Boston Bobby 100-1
6.30 Hidalgo Des Mottes 6-1
6.30 More Info 12-1
But as we are trialling bets from the new software system we will go for a Reverse Forecast here on the two selections Hidalgo Des Mottes and More Info in the 6.30. The wager on Boston Bobby will depend on if he runs and when the extra markets are published.

Right, fortunately Cosmic Blizzard came in and gave us a +2.60 return to a 1 point stake (which will always be our starting point). Now in this instance the bet would have been a 1/2 each way extra bet as follows.
1/2 point 21-1 win lost
1/2 point 21-1 place won
We then take our +2.6 winnings now instead of putting it all on the next part of the accumulator we are going to split the bet into two bets A and B.
A = 1.30
B = 1.30
Bet A we will carry on with tomorrow in the 5.30 at Roscommon and will be another each way extra bet.
Suile Ban 50-1 but 14-1 @ 10 places.

We have had a few queries over the rolling maul bet and will try once more to give an example by using a starter bet from todays Reply To: Winning Post Tips thread. We will use our each way extra bet which is Cosmic Blizzard in the 3.08 at Cork and we will use the 21-1 on offer for 10 places.

Don’t you just hate days like that we had two options and chose the wrong one. Fast medicine would have placed for us but our selection Bobbisilver was the one who could not handle the ground. 🙁
But such is life and we are probably about to make another mistake as we take a few selections from our new 4yo Irish NH database and go with the following wagers at Cork tomorrow.

Those are our thread bets but we have personally taken the 26-1 for 9 and 30-1 for 8 places on Cosmic Blizzard as unless our calculations are incorrect he could run a decent race and finish somewhere just outside the frame.
We have only mentioned that as there will be some changes to the way we play the markets coming up over the next few weeks. 🙂

No worries mate nice you had the Cojones to take a punt, you don’t get to marry the prince unless you kiss a few frogs. 🙁
I can’t help but notice all the Championship bets won and you only came unstuck when you dabbled in the lower leagues. We will be trying this thread again ourselves next week but using the rolling maul system which can be a bit boring but it can be fun to follow.

Bobbisilver (who is now 40-1) but we are going in with the 16-1 for 9 places. 😬

Something Abouther placed fifth and Royal Eagle finished third and had I not done Meyo we would have started the month off in profit. 🙁 However no regrets as Meyo is one to keep in our back pockets as he finished just one spot off a return and I am sure will compensate us at some time further down the line.
We have just the one tomorrow at Galway which is as follows
4.30 All In Montmarte 33-1 but we have gone in with the 15-1 for 6 places.

We cannot get an each way extra market on Meyo but with Royal Eagle already placed we will take a risky punt on Meyo at 25-1 betting without both High Class Hero and Tag Man.

There are limited options available for tomorrow so we will take a couple from our computer program wagers which are on the new thread Computer tips (fun). Both bets are at Galway and are as follows
8.20 Something Abouther @ 10-1 for 6 places (Sky Bet)
7.50 Meyo 33-1
7.15 Royal Eagle @ 10-1 for 6 places (Sky Bet)
We will wait for the each way extra places before betting on Meyo and will make sure the ground does not go Soft or worse before before taking a punt on Royal Eagle.
