MikeKeymasterHi
A little bit better with the last one with Charlies Gift placing third for a +1.1 profit on the day. This takes us back up to +24.44 in total.
We have one going tomorrow o the flat at Leopardstown who is going to back to the flat after half a dozen runs over hurdles.7.20 Crypto Crash 1/2 point each way @ 25-1 for 5 places
MikeKeymasterHi
Well I guess Charlies Gift did not know he was a gamble as he pulled up…lol. However Dearg Mor placed for a nominal profit so we ended up losing 0.90 on the day. This leaves us on +23.34 as we play a strange one today at Royal Ascot. We do not get many here as Irish hurdlers are few and far between in meetings like this but we are following a system so here goes.5.00 Tim Toe 1/2 point each way @ 16-1 for 6 places.
MikeKeymasterHi
Well I did say I fancied Sweden to be the surprise package and after last nights 5-1 win the chances of qualification out of the group look quite promising. This begs the question that now Graham Potter has redeemed his reputation, with possibly another 3 or more games on the agenda can Alexander Isak do the same.
Isak once touted as a rival to Haaland spent a lot of time on the bench last season and now also has something to prove. Isak already has one goal in the bag and at 50-1 the quarter odds each way for 4 places look too tempting not to have a dabble.
I am sure Graham Potter targeted the opening game as the one to win and he is not renown for having a plan B so hopefully will go all out against the group favorites, knowing just one more result will secure progression to the knockout stages. This would give Isak the chance to shine and although Ayari has already two in the bag for Sweden I can see our selection being the one most likely to step up to the plate.
MikeKeymasterHi
We took the 20-1 but if anyone is still pondering the options Charlie’s Gift is being backed this morning and looks like developing into a gamble. ?
MikeKeymasterHi
Well that was disaster as I dropped 2 points on the day as having pushed my luck and gone in again hoping that the selection pulling up last time out was a one off but unfortunately it appears he has lost his love for the game. ?
This leaves us back down at +24.24 with two going at Kilbeggan tomorrow.6.42 Dearg Mor (To Follow) which placed for us last time out so will only cost us 1.5 points each way to clear the 10 point profit required and we get 5 places.
7.12 Charlies Gift 20-1 for 5 places which we will take at 1/2 point each way tonight unless the extra markets offer us something better in the next hour or so.
MikeKeymasterHi Rob
Hope you feel better soon we need that engine ticking on a straight six by Ascot. I think we have mentioned this a few times on here but the “state of the ground” is probably the old enemies greatest ally. We mentioned in a previous thread that we have actually considered stopping betting (in NH fixtures) on any day we with Heavy mentioned in the going description.
I know it could be considered an opportunity but I will confess this aspect of the game has me stumped. It has even thrown our stats out on the latest “Bletchley Park” topic. I know you dabble on the dirt in the states etc do you have any such issues in those scenarios. ?
MikeKeymasterHi
It was a better week last week with three winners helping us to a well deserved win.
Punchestown 1.15 Magico @ 11-4
Punchestown 1.50 Hashtag Pretender @ 3-1
Musselburgh 2.15 Furturra @ 2-1 Won
Punchestown 3.40 Rosies Wings @ 9-2 Won
Punchestown 4.55 Brother Walfrid @ 2-1 Won
Punchestown 5.30 Returning Officer @ 11-2It would be nice if we could repeat the feat this week and here goes
Downpatrick 2.00 Emestraye @ 7-2
Downpatrick 2.35 Nakassama @ 15-8
Downpatrick 5.30 Flashy Fred @ 4-1
Hexham 4.10 Campaign Trail @ 2-1
USA to beat Paraguay @ 21-20
Japan to beat Netherlands @ 27-10The lottery numbers are the usual 4,7,16,23,26 and 50
MikeKeymasterHi
This will be a bit of a first but we are going in again on tonight’s selection as it has has drifted to 18-1 for 9 places and I cannot resist a bargain. We have already taken him for 5 places @ 40-1 but have put another 1/2 point each way.In hindsight I would have just gone with the second option but I really did not think he would drift this far.
MikeKeymasterHi
We currently still stand on +26.24 and think it is worth a 1/2 point each way on Jr Mahon @ 40-1 as we can get the extra place with bet365 in the 7.20 at Fairyhouse tomorrow. The horse is no world beater but has shown a bit promise in both codes and this trip just might be the answer. The jockey ran well with this one over hurdles and gets the full 7lb claim here in what looks like a weak race.
MikeKeymasterHi
Timurshah won but Fighting Falcon Pulled up which meant we dropped a point on the double. However Hopeful Hero placed so we picked up a point there and came out even on the day. We have nothing for a few days now so will play catch up with tidying the site up.
MikeKeymasterHi
I guess that’s just the way it goes as I was convinced Struck Oil was my best bet of the week and he fell at the last having jumped left most of the way around. But such is life we dropped three points and now stand at +26.24 as we go into tomorrow.Southwell 5.05 Fighting Falcon @ 15-8 3 places
Sligo 7.00 Timurshah @ 4-1 for 5 places
The above are a done as a 1/2 point each way double.Sligo 6.30 Hopeful Hero @ 10-1 is a “To Follow” horse and we will go 1 point each way.
MikeKeymasterHi
As the site is still short of a football pundit but still goes by the “goalpoststowinningposts” title I thought I would throw in a couple of bets for the forthcoming World Cup.
Firstly Argentina to win outright @ 10-1 looks overpriced especially with the European countries prone to under performing when playing outside of home soil. The Argentine squad is a little bit older this time around but they know how to grind out a result and as is often the case especially in the group stages when teams play not to lose rather than to win they look a solid option.
The second is the surprise package every World Cup has one and I am going in with Sweden @ 10-1 to reach but then be eliminated in the quarter finals. I know the foreign manager stats I did a full run down on this years ago for another site but Graham Potter has coached clubs in Sweden for many years speaks the lingo and has put together a good group of players who seem 100% behind him.
This brings me to the obvious as it also brings up my usual big punt which is by throwing in the double you get just over 110-1. I would split stakes on the double which would give you the cash out option on one of them should they both start off well.
I am revising and updating the site and threads but the name will as stated earlier remain the same, so if you are keen on your football get in touch the “goalposts” seat is still vacant…lol.
MikeKeymasterHi
Fairlander did us proud winning at 10-1 we let Accustomed go and El Regalo lost so we ended up +5 points on the day. We now stand at +29.24 and have just the one going tomorrow which is a “To Follow” horse and we can get away with 1.5 points each way on that one at the 13-2 for 4 places showing tonight.Rosscommon 7.18 Struck Oil
MikeKeymasterHi
We have three going tomorrow all are extra market options but I am happy enough to go in with two of them tonight for the usual 1/2 point each way albeit for just the one extra place.Punchestown 3.07 Fairlander @ 10-1 for 5 places
Punchestown 4.52 Accustomed 12-1
Navan 4.37 El Regalo @ 28-1 for 5 placesWe will look again at Accustomed in the morning. !
