Despite a first a second and a third between today’s five selections we dropped 5 points and go back to+116.65 as a running total but thats just the way the cookie crumbles. We have a couple of options going tomorrow which are as follows.

Musselburgh 1.10 Grey Fable 4-1 for 4 places
Wexford 3.45 Take Stock 8-1
We will only take a 1/2 point each way double on the above as one is in England and one is going chasing.
Wexford 2.37 Speakasyoufind (“To Follow” horse) 1 point each way @ 12-1 for 4 places

As we have finally managed to get live threads on the “Bletchley Park” thread we have decided to kick this one back off in a normal unprotected status as we would also like to include the importance of obtaining the best odds just by shopping around. This will incorporate some samples which will be released from the “Bletchley Park” thread just to show the possibilities.
The first example was a bet placed on the betfair exchange where the freakiest odds are sometimes available.
“nb. As we approach the off this race has worked out perfectly as we cannot lose mainly due to non runners but that’s the beauty of the exchanges. Daydream Nation taken @ 190-1 is now only showing +105.96 if it wins but has a cash out of 10.91 for +9.91 profit if we cash out. Alternatively we can lay Daydream Nation at 17-2 for a profit either way.”
This was an example from the last post taken from the above mentioned ( members pass worded) thread. This is just an example and today’s example is taken from a race being run this afternoon at Fairyhouse in the 4.04.
Now we are not suggesting you have a bet in any race unless you were going to anyway but as we have three runners in this race that we were looking for each way options on it suits our purpose well. Now most bookmakers have odds that are much the same on the standard markets.
However for all three runners to finish in the top 5 most bookmakers have combined odds of 5.6-1 but bet 365 are offering 11-1 plus a 25% odds boost if you select three runners or more. This then gives you approximately 13-75-1 which is over twice the odds from all the other firms. For our thread we have gone with all three for a top 6 finish @ 6.75 -1 but could not use that here as most firms only offer 5 places.

By using the 25% three selection bonus with bet365 we can get 6.75-1 for our bet builder on all three of our runners finishing in the top 6 in the 4.04 at Fairyhouse and are happy to go with that.

We had a nice win with Crypto Crash which saved the day and gave us a +6.40 total for the day and took the running total to +121.65. This means we have a little bit of leeway and look likely to come out in profit again this year. We have a few going at Fairyhouse tomorrow which are as follows.
12.55 Urbs Intacta Manet 6-1
2.30 Goin’ (“To Follow” horse) 2 points each way @ 11-2 for 5 places.
4.04 Accustomed
4.04 Princess Felicia
4.04 Mickey Cohen
We will look for a bet builder option etc when the extra markets are published.

Banter At the Bar is already a non runner and although we have taken 30-1 on all four of our selections for a top 10 finish in the 4.00 as our bet builder. That is likely to have deductions but it will be an interesting race to watch and there is now a 25% boost for the bet builder if more than three runners stay in the race.

One non runner and missed a place by a short head so dropped a point today and we now stand at +115.25. We do however have an interesting couple of options tomorrow at Cork.

This is a to follow horse but as it is going chasing so only counts as an extra markets option.

Apart from the early bets we will look for a bet builder option in the 4.00 and an option in the 3.25.

Unsurprisingly (I suppose) the last bet went down but the next exchange bet we tried yesterday and posted on the Bletchley Park thread paid dividends so the idea is still alive.
We go into today on +116.25 and have a previous “To Follow” winner running and another running in England

We have a strange horse running today which is not a to follow horse but has some interest for us as it ties in with an idea we are working on for our swansong thread…lol.
2.42 Bath Royal Approval 35-1 but we have gone for a 1 point win only @ 75-1 on the betfair Exchange.
Now this break a few rules but it serves as an example of the exchanges (which we hope to dabble with later). The horse has shown some good speed over hurdles but achieved nothing however it was a three time winner on the flat for Andrew Balding (albeit on the AW) was then purchased and sent to Gordon Elliot to go hurdling which just did not work out.
The horse has now changed hands again is dropped in grade goes back on the flat at the same OR as he last won on but at 75-1 he is a shot to nothing at the price.
The horse is an each way extra horse (technically) and running in England on the flat and we have backed it to win so we have broken all the rules here but it’s my ball and if I want to be captain I can….lol.

There is no racing for us for a few days now so we will update the thread now. If You Believe won for a profit of +10.80 but Ruled By The Sun (who did hit 125-1) could only manage seventh so we dropped 2 points on the other two bets.
This takes us back up to +117.25 which lets us breath a sigh of relief after last weeks debacle.

When placing the bets for Galway we managed to get 80-1 on Ruled By The Sun and were tempted to wait to see if it went out to 100-1 but with BOG attached it is not essential. With the ground already”Heavy” if the racing goes ahead you just know some of today’s runners will pull up leaving the possibility of an upset and a sneaky big priced place so watch for ex PTP runners today.
However the bet builder looks the most likely scenario and both selections for a top 5 finish @ 13-2.

This is turning into a rout for the bookies as we dropped another 7 points today and leaves us back down on +108.45. We can blame the weather the clocks going back or the idiot who went for 4 bet builders but the results are still the same.
We have two going tomorrow both in the same race but they clash with the Bletchley Park thread which indicates they will not do well.
