MikeKeymasterHi
With all the bad weather and abandoned meetings it looks as though we have nothing until Thursday at the earliest this week, but it will give us a chance to look further at trying out a Baldrick on the betfair exchanges.
The Aintree Grand National meeting comes up this weekend and for those who took the hint last month on this thread Winning Post Tips where we suggested backing Mr Incredible at 40-1 NRNB it looks like he will run. He is now trading at between 12-1 and 14-1 and once the final declarations are made I think he will shorten up even further.
MikeKeymasterHi
We had our first six fold and 20x trebles in for 2024 a few weeks back and we only missed out by a couple of corners this week which is frustrating but the trebles brought us in a tidy profit so we are on a roll here. π
Ospreys -1 to beat Sale Sharks @ 10-11 (Rugby) Won
DAL Mavericks -1.5 to beat GS Warriors @ 10-11 (Basketball) Won
Kempton(AW)4.25 Notable Speech @ 8-11 (Horse Racing) Won
Akshay Bhatia to win the Valero Texas Open @ 7-5 (Golf) Won
Sutton v Stockport Over 0 goals for Sutton + over 3 corners Sutton + over 3 corners Stockport @ 9-4 (Football)
Tranmere v Walsall Over 0 goals Tranmere + Over 5 corners Tranmere + Over 3 corners Walsall @ 5-2 (Football) Won
Lets hope we can work some more magic this weekend π
MikeKeymasterHi
Absolutey gutted as apart from the Accrington v Crewe game we missed out by just a goal for Morecambe and the corners bet for Stockport which means we had 15 of the 19 predictions come in but still lost the bet. π
But such is life and although we lost 19 points we still have enough left in the kitty for another bash. The bet would have to 20 points this time but we have +23.61 left so it look like sqeeky bum time as we go all in next weekend.
MikeKeymasterHi Sudsie
Sorry, forgot to mention the lottery numbers are the same as last week 4,7,16,23,31 and 50 and remember as with Suds (Clarence) you have to be in it to win it. So if anyone else wants to join in all you have do is to be an active member on the site and post a tip plus a lucky number by Friday night 9pm which can be used that weekend.
We got off to a good start last night when the Mavericks won in the Basketball so its 1 down 5 to go. π
MikeKeymasterHi Suds
We had one basketball, one football and a rugby treble in last week so we wiped our nose on the day for another win.
This week we are going with the following wagers
Ospreys -1 to beat Sale Sharks @ 10-11
DAL Mavericks -1.5 to beat GS Warriors @ 10-11
Kempton(AW)4.25 Notable Speech @ 8-11
Akshay Bhatia to win the Valero Texas Open @ 7-5
Sutton v Stockport Over 0 goals for Sutton + over 3 corners Sutton + over 3 corners Stockport @ 9-4
Tranmere v Walsall Over 0 goals Tranmere + Over 5 corners Tranmere + Over 3 corners Walsall @ 5-2
The acca comes to a reasonable 170.86-1 for those looking for a long shot punt.
MikeKeymasterHi
Here are tomorrows League 2 wagers and we will be going with 36x 1/2 point seven folds and a 1 point nine fold to make up our 19 point bet. π
Mansfield v Crawley Over 0 goals Mansfield + over 4 corners Mansfield + over 2 corners Crawley @ 4-5
Morecambe v Doncaster Over 0 goals Morecambe + over 2 corners Doncaster @ 2-5
Sutton v Stockport Over 0 goals Sutton + over 3 corners Sutton + over 3 corners Sutton @ 11-5
Tranmere v Walsall Over 0 goals Tranmere + over 5 corners Tranmere + over 3 corners Walsall @ 5-2
Accrington v Crewe Over 0 goals in the game + over 5 corners Accrington + over 2 corners Crewe @ 13-10
Barrow v Swindon Over 0 goals in the game @ 1-25
Colchester v Wrexham Over 0 goals Colchester + over 3 corners Wrexham @ 8-13
Grimsby v Newport Over 0 goals Grimsby @ 1-6
Notts County v Harrogate Over 4 corners Notts County @ 1-4
MikeKeymasterHi
Well which idiot had to say it “What could possibly go wrong” oh.. it was me π we got our first slapped arse of 2024 yesterday but we were long overdue so “Que sera sera” (whatever will be will be). There is no racing due to abandoned meetings over the next few days and we are always dangerous after a loss so it gives us time to recover… π
The one issue we have is the removal of decent each way extra pricing by bet365 which has been our go to bet for the last few years and that means a rethink so it may be time to consider the “Betfair exchanges”. I would not have attempted this whilst I was working but now retired it could be perfect timing. π
Expect a few Baldricks (cunning plans) over the next few weeks which may crash and burn or…:)
MikeKeymasterHi
We walked away with our first slapped arse of 2024 yesterday as we could not even get one in the frame and dropped 14 points which leaves us now on +108.05 and staring a 15 point bet in the face. π
However yesterdays result was not really the downside as we expect to take a few slaps during the course of a year (it is impossible not too) but the killer for us was bet365 last week drastically reducing the prices on each way extra options. This has been our main source of income for quite a while and we were forced into yesterdays standard wager. It was not a disaster as three of our selections finished within two lengths of making the frame so it was not as bad as it first looked but the loss of the each way extra option will effect the way we bet.
With the bad weather back in and the likelihood of most of the weekends Irish NH racing being abandoned it means we are scratching for a bet but will give us time to regroup. π
MikeKeymasterHi
We have a 13 point bet option but have used 14 points on the three mentioned last night in the Winning Post Tips thread.
3.40 Papa Barns @ 8-1 for 6 places
4.10 Gabriel Ranger @ 14-1 for 6 places
4.50 Jeronimo De Lβouch @ 9-2 for 6 places
We missed last nights early prices but its swings and roundabouts as some prices have gone up and some down. We will use them in an 1 point each way patent which totals 14 points.Β π
MikeKeymasterHi
In the 2.10 Touch Me Not is a big drifter in the markets and there are no decent odds on Targo Flavia (bet 365 are offering 27/4 for 10 places which is pathetic for a 200-1 shot). So we will leave those with the exception of possibly backing them without the favourites if you are desperate for a bet.
2.40 The Great Unknown has been backed and is worth a punt in mixed doubles with the three already backed last night. The issuse here is that the price is short considering there are only 3 places available.
3.10 Aero’s Luck is friendless probabaly due to the ground but again if he runs a bet without the favourite looks best.
We are happy enough with the three we put up last night and will stick with those. π BOG (best odds guaranteed) is available on most races so do not worry too much about price fluctuations.
The possible exception is we are going to try a cheeky long shot acca using Touch Me Not (without the favs), The Great Unknown and Aero’s Luck (without the fav’s) along with the three from last night. (What could possibly go wrong…lol)Β π
MikeKeymasterHi
We are quite keen on the tips in the main Winning Post Tips thread for tomorrow (over at Naas) so watch this space as we may go in again as we deem were a tad unlucky last time.
MikeKeymasterHi
I cannot see anything over at Clonmel but we do like the following at Naas
2.10 Touch Me Not 9-2
2.10 Targo Flavia 150-1
2.40 The Great Unknown 8-1
3.10 Aero’s Luck 14-1
3.40 Papa Barns @ 9-1 for 6 places
4.10 Gabriel Ranger @ 11-1 for 6 places
4.50 Jeronimo De L’ouch @ 9-2 for 6 places
We have gone in with the highlighted options as usual and will wait for the extra markets to see if we can get a decent price on any of the others.
MikeKeymasterHi
We did not get much of a chance to update today but here are todays results
Cork 1.48 Driscolls Hill 22-1 Placed
Cork 2.23 Macinamillion 11-1 Won
Cork 2.23 Aboy Joey 20-1 Placed
Fairyhouse 2.05 Boher Road @ 25-1 for 5 places (Crashed out when well clear)
Fairyhouse 3.15 Western Fold 16-1 (lost)
Not a bad little haul on the day even if we cannot claim them for the thread.Β π
Nothing now until Thursday I believe. ?
MikeKeymasterHi
After the disappointment of Boher Road doing a demoltion derby on the third last fence in the 2.05 at Fairyhouse it was nice to get a return here. π
Mansfield v Accrington Over 1 goal in the game + Over 4 corners Mansfield + over 3 corners Accrington @ 8-5 Abandoned
Morecombe v Barrow Over 0 goals Morecombe + over 4 corners Barrow @ 6-5 Won
Sutton v Swindon Over 0 Goals Sutton + Over 4 corners Sutton + over 2 corners Swindon @ 11-8 (lost by one Swindon corner)
Tranmere v Colchester Over 0 goals Tranmere + Over 4 corners Tranmere + over 3 corners Colchester @ 8-5 Won
Including the abandonded game and bearing in mind we had to use a 19 point bet (as we always have to stake more than the last wager) our 6 x 3 point win doubles and 1 point acca returned +31.16 which is a tidy enough +12.16 point profit on the day.
We now have to use more than 19 points on the next bet but now have a running total of +58.61 to play with. The profit on the actual bet to date is actually +42.61 (when we deduct the intial stake used). -
