MikeKeymasterHi Suds
I am laid up with man flu so will fill in a few of the blanks from the Pension Pot thread plus your Cardiff wager and a couple of random Basketball bets. However with the racing being postoned of late plus the occasional football bet, who knows what will transpire tomorrow. πNewport v Wrexham Over 9 corners + Over 1 goal @ 0.92-1
Harrogate Town v Grimsby Over 9 Corners + Over 1 goal @ 0.8-1
Cardiff +27 to beat Racing Metro @ 1-1
Navan 12.45 Betterdaysahead @ 6-4
PHI 76ers -5 to beat ORL Magic @ 20-23
DEN Nuggets +7 to beat BOS Celtics @ 10-11This weeks lottery numbers are the usual 4,7,16,23,31 and 50
MikeKeymasterHi
Due to the adverse weather conditions the racing at Fairyhouse tomorrow has been abandoned.Β πΒ This means the next opportunity we will have will be over at Navan on Saturday.Β π
MikeKeymasterHi
I have had a few queries over the “Rolling Maul” wager which I will try to explain in layman’s terms as best I can but I am sure I will be corrected by one of the Rugby pundits on here. π
A “Rolling Maul” is a rugby term for a stage of play where as instead of running with the ball at speed and passing the ball along the line you would form a maul and slowly move forward. Now this maybe a boring way of doing it but you tend to keep possesion and it is the safer option. The “Rolling Maul” however must keep going forward and although it can be held up and occasionally move sideway’s, it must resume it’s forward momentum within a short space of time. It’s characteristics are very similar to a scrum whereby you are pushing against the opposition (in this case the bookmaker).
Transferring this to a bet means that insted of plodding along at 1 point per portion of the bet we must increase our stakes everytime we have have a win. The idea is avoid the thread becoming stale and to keep the interest going. In the old threads we used a different formula which is explained here Joes dream punt π.
Confused ? So am I…:) Here are the stats for this thread which should help to clarify the situation bear in mind the stake option changes each day we have a bet not with every bet (its confusing enough already).
We gave ourselves a 10 point starting bank and used a 2 point start on the first bets at 1 point each way.
Cork 2.12 The Dawn 29-1 for 10 places getting a return of +6.80 Profit +4.80
Cork 12.12 The Dawn 35-1 for 9 places which got a return of +8 Profit +6
1.22 Cork 1.22 Glen Kiln 33-4 for 5 places returning +2.65 Profit of +0.65
We then had a bank of +21.45 our 10 point bank plus the days +11.45 profit
This meant having successfully used the 2 point option, for our next bet we had to up the stakes to a 3 point win bet or 1.5 points each way.
Naas 2.12 Lake Manzaleh 250-1 but we have taken 1.5 points each way 45-1 for 10 places. (loss -3)
This bet lost and we had now lost momentum (-3 points) and had only +18.45 in the bank but could stick with 3 point option so went with 1.5 points each way on the next wager.
Punchestown 12.55 Palamon 50-1 but we went with 1.5 points each way 15-1 for 10 placesΒ return ofΒ +6 Profit +3
This one wonΒ so we are now back up to +21.45 in the bank so we now have to go in with a 4 point stake to keep the momentum going.
Phew…. π
MikeKeymasterHi
Both of the horses placed today but unfortunately we can only count Paloman for the site as I was busy trying to plaster a wall π and forgot to post the second one before the off. π
We did get both for the main “Winningpost” thread so at least it was not a double disappointment. π
However we had a +6 point return today so we are now up to +21.45 and the next bet will have to be a minimum of 2 points each way or 4 points win as we are sticking to the “Rolling Maul” wager.
MikeKeymasterHi
Both Paloman and Bossofthebrownies placed today which got us nicely back on track with a +5.90 point profit on the day. There is nothing now until Thursday so hopefully see you then π
MikeKeymasterHi
Pinion Jay fluffed his lines but we will try our luck over at Punchestown tomorrow
12.55 Palamon 50-1 but we will go with 15-1 for 10 places
2.55 Bossofthebrownies 100-1 but we will go with 30-1 for 6 places
MikeKeymasterHi
Lake Manzalah let the side down by hitting three out and losing momentum but will still be one to follow.
We will go over to Punchestown tomorrow where we hope to get back on track as we are now only +18.45
12.55 Palamon 50-1 but we will go with 15-1 for 10 places
As we lost the last bet 1.5 each way will again be the stakes today.
2.55 Bossofthebrownies 100-1 is of interest at 30-1 for 6 places but we will check out the non runners and early markets etc whilst we ponder this one.
MikeKeymasterHi
Looks like it’s all down to me this week π so here goesSAC Kings +1 to beat PHI 76ers @ 10-11
HOU Rockets v Det Pistons over 226.5 points @ 10-11
NO Pelicans v DEN Nuggets over 230 points @ 10-11
Man City to beat Newcastle +BTTS @ 11-5
Tottenham to beat Man United @ 21-10
Aston Villa to beat Everton @ 29-20This weeks lottery numbers are the usual 4,7,16,23,31 and 50
MikeKeymasterHi
“Midfield, in touch with leaders when mistake 3 out, weakened before 2 out”. ! That was the Racing Post write up on Lake Manzaleh which just about summed up the day.
We will try just the one tomorrow which is Pinion Jay @ 12-1 for 4 places in the 1.22 at Fairyhouse.
MikeKeymasterHi
We are going to throw in a cheeky each way double over at Naas today which is as follows
2.12 Howdoyoulikeherathome 16-1 but we have taken 11-2 betting without both Tullyhill and Lightkeeper
2.42 The Long Lad @ 20-1 for 5 places
You can get 6 places @ 16-1 with Sky for The Long Lad but we needed to go with the bet365 price so as to obtain the double.
MikeKeymasterHi
Well we did not start with a bang but I will settle for a profit and a win in the first bet of 2024 the results were as follows. And the return was +3.82 points which means we are now +1.82 up for 2024.UTA Jazz +14 to beat Bos Celtics @ 10-11 (Lost)
NY Knicks +6 to beat PHI 76ers @ 10-11 (Won)
LA Clippers to beat NO Pelicans @ 20-21 (Won)
Lions +8 to beat Sharks @ 1-1 (Won)
Cork 12.47 Flamborough @ 2-1 (Won)
Newcastle to beat Sunderland + BTTS @ 9-4 (Lost)This weeks lottery numbers are the usual 4,7,16,23,31 and 50 (Lost)
Remember the competition is free for members that are active (posting tips) and all you have to do is post one tip for any sport covered by bet365 that can be used in a multiple wager. The tips must be posted on here by 9pm Friday night and be for a bet happening over that weekend. π
MikeKeymasterHi
Sorry about that Suds yours was in the top three all the way round but faded on the run in and we fought out eight place. However I think we are both in agreement with Lake Manzaleh in the 2.12 at Naas tomorrow. π
Ladbrokes and several other firms are offering 66-1 for 3 places yet bet365 are going 66-1 for 9 places. ?
Having picked up +4.2 points today I will go in with 45-1 for 10 places and 66-1 for 9 places on this one.
MikeKeymasterHi
We have one over at Naas tomorrow for which we will going straight in tonight as bet365 are offering a ridiculous price compared to the other bookmakers.
2.12 Lake Manzaleh 250-1 but we have taken 1.5 points each way 45-1 for 10 places. The 1.5 points is the increase in stakes required for the “Rolling Maul” bet.
All the other bookmakers are offering between 66-1 and 80-1 for 3 places. This is one again taken from our database of Irish hurdlers and although having shown nothing so far and having first run for new yard we do think this is one to follow.
MikeKeymasterHi
We are still tidying the site up but are nearly there (honest) π
But just to keep the threads going Suds and I have a minor difference of opinion in the 2.45 at Clonmel today where we are looking for one of us to sneak 8th place.
I am going with The Lucky Lobster 150-1 but I have taken the 26-1 for 8 places
Over to you Suds. π -
