MikeKeymasterHi
We have just reset the thread leaving an few examples of how it works and will be running this on a regular basis as of this weekend the 6th August 2022 to coincide with the start of the premiership season.
MikeKeymasterHi
We have just reset this thread having hopefully, now sorted out all the minor gliches with the new site.
We have left the obvious big winner in as 100-1+ shots are about as rare as hens teeth and deserve a mention. They are not, however for the faint hearted, as trying for these can lead to long losing streaks.
Since the site relaunch we have had 14 bets on this thread of which 3 have returned a profit all from the same player on the same weekend. On the flip side of the coin, we have obviously had 11 losing bets with a losing streak of 9.
We are not looking for big winners all the time, it is just the way I personally operate as we all have our own way of doing things. If you wish to put a bet up here that is even money etc please feel free to do so (if you can put a few words of reasoning down with it much the better).
Nobody on here is going to give you any grief win, lose or draw this site is just about opinions and hopefully making a few friends along the way.Β π
MikeKeymasterHi
College Causway let the side down today but if going handicapping next time out and over a longer trip I would not put you off having a nibble.
Maggie Walsh placed 7th so both bets paid off there, but the highlight of the day has to be Walnut Beach who placed a close second at 40-1. Had he not lost momentum two out when bumping a rival he might have given the winner a bit more to do. But with three out of four bets coming off at decent prices we cleared a nice +14.80 points on the day. π
I will start resetting the threads tomorrow so these two at Roscommon may dissapear but here they are.
7.30 Harel Du Marais 40-1 but we will take the 19-1 for 9 places and 22-1 for 8 places
8.30 Court Cian 40-1 but 17-1 for 9 places and 19-1 for 8 places look best
MikeKeymasterHi
Just a quick update to say that Walnut Beach is still available with bet365 at 40-1 for 4 places. However he is as low as 14-1 with Sky Bet.
With this in mind we feel honour bound to throw him in the mix today.
MikeKeymasterHi
That’s always the way Rob I was chatting to Joe online earlier over a bet I had at 80-1 on Germany to win the Womens Euro’s and Alexandra Popp to win the Golden Boot. Popp being joint top with 6 goals and having scored in every round promptly injured herself in the warm up. π If you didn’t laugh you would cry. !
As for my wager Blowing Dixie was non runner but as I will not be able reset until my next day off which will be Tuesday it does give me the option to throw a couple in for tomorrow at Cork.
2.30 Maggie Walsh 50-1 but we will go with 20-1 for 9 places and 24-1 for 8 places
4.35 College Causeway @ 20-1 for 6 places with Sky bet
3.00 Walnut Beach 40-1 is worth checking out in the markets for any support.
Maggie Walsh is not going to win this and is also available at 17-1 for 10 places but I feel the two bets we have had are the best options. College Causeway is one of our to follow horses and at the 6 places on offer is worth a straight punt.
MikeKeymasterHi
In that case Rob this would make Monday the perfect time to reset the threads. I am assuming that you have had no problem getting on of late and with all but one of the other issues sorted it looks a goer.
I will throw one in for tomorrow as well, as I still have the Womens Euro final and Golf bets in play or ongoing.
Galway 2.00 Blowing Dixie @ 25-1 for 6 places
MikeKeymasterHi
I have been working on a new silly bet but do not wish to start a new thread per say just yet so I will put the racing selections down here as options on todays wagers. Both are at Galway if they both run. ?2.00 Moulane West @ 25-1 for 4 places
2.30 Celestial Horizon 50-1 but we will take the 33-1 betting without both La Prima Donna and Boothill for which 4 places still apply.Moulane West has been running against decent opposition of late and I beleive the track did not suit last time out. There are question marks over the market leaders and he looks overpiced today.
Celestial Horizon was a tip of ours the other day and ran a stinker but if he lines up today which is a big question mark I have to go in again, but without Boothill as I have already put him up for this race.
MikeKeymasterHi
It’s hats off to Rob today who got both of his selections placed whilst both of mine bit the dust. I have no idea what happened to Tempo Chapter Two who was scrubbed along at the start and then pulled up halfway round. π Rapid Response ran well enough but could only get 8th we needed 7th.
I am going straight in with Boothill tonight as Bet365 are showing a very generous 9-1 for 6 places in the 2.30 at Galway tomorrow. Boothill was one of our Ten To Follow competition horses last year and owes us a favour having flattered to decieve in 2021 and this looks to be a decent opportunity for some payback.
I am going off to sort out a silly bet, which I have been working on for a while, which I will post tomorrow morning once the golf has finished for the day and the football odds are out. π
MikeKeymasterHi
Celestial Horizon was slowly away and was then quickly pulled up when hampered by a faller half way round. But Prairie Dancer did us proud led from the front and was placed, so made us a few points profit on the day.
As for tomorrow we will have a dabble at the two NH races at Galway again using the following selections.
5.00 Tempo Chapter Two @ 14-1 for 5 places
6.00 Rapid Response @ 18-1 for 7 places
Tempo Chapter Two looks the best bet of the day as having won a decent enough race back in February then ran to form without troubling the judge in a big race at Cheltenham. He then failed to see out three miles next time around and I beleive he was then turned out to quickly, but should be a different proposition tomorrow.
MikeKeymasterHi Rob
At the time of the fall Fire Attack was as low as 3-1 in running and with half a dozen other runners already down or out you looked nailed on for some sort of return. π
In truth, I used to love the big Chase races but having had this happen to me so many times it was a major factor in my switching to the Hurdling scene some years ago. Ridiculously, I would sit there wondering why it only happened to me…lol. I have here a link which you may find interesting it may appeal more to myself as 90% of my bets are Irish NH races, which is where I try (stop lauging now π ) to specialise.
https://www.geegeez.co.uk/why-horses-fall/I have since done a breakdown on the racecourses which I used to post on here which more or less verifies the stats, although luck, always as you know plays its part.
MikeKeymasterHi
I will also have a dabble in the 5.05 at Galway but am struggling between two of the J P O’Brien runners Celestial Horizon and Prairie Dancer.
However as Priarie Dancer is not guaranteed a run I will try an each way punt on both as bet365 are offering a very generous 33-1 for 6 places on both runners.
MikeKeymasterHi
Apologies, as it may look as if I chickened out last night but the whole idea of the tips posted on the site is to stay in profit and if you look through the archived thread we have a near perfect record over the last four years.
Hence our comment in one of our recent posts
In the meantime I have been shooting for the stars betting on the Womens Euroβs and have slipped to a unhealthy deficit and will try and correct this during the finals next week. It would be easy just to wipe the slate clean but that is not the way we fly and this poor run was self inflicted. π
MikeKeymasterHi
We have our first worthwhile cash out option at +18.79 points on the 40-1 punt and we will take that as it brings the thread back into profit. π
MikeKeymasterHi
No joy with I Don’t Get It but for those who ventured on the other two Stormey placed 4th so would have stopped the day being a total loss.
There is only one for tomorrow which is back over at Galway. Although this one is the Mullins second string, it looks worth checking out. However beware this one is already a big drifter in the markets tonight.5.40 Feigh @ 40-1 for 6 places.
This one is only a 4yo but has already clocked a decent time and looks a possible improver.
