MikeKeymasterHi Suds
Yes Romeo Coolio is (hopefully) running at Down Royal tomorrow along with The Yellow Clay in the 2.37 and on Saturday it looks like Don’t Mind If I Do is turning out in the 3.30 at Wetherby so with luck we could get the ball rolling sooner than later.
MikeKeymasterHi
We have one going at Thurles tomorrow which will be another Kit Kat challenge as Suds has Found A Diamond in the same race. Mine is another new horse which has not been a good move of late but sometimes you just have to go for it.3.00 Chisum @ 7-1 (No BOG attached here as I wish to take the early price)
Think I had better go check that I have enough tea bags to go with next Kit Kat….lol
MikeKeymasterHi Rob
Nice to have you back on and all the best with the thread.
Suds and I used to make a decent profit from the “Each Way Extra” markets with bet365 but they soon closed that option down and the prices there have become unplayable lately.
The “Top Finishes” markets looks interesting albeit it a little short for “Hail Mary” punters like me to dabble with but the name of the game is to make a profit one way or another and I will follow this one with interest.
MikeKeymasterHi
As it had already been decided that we were going to run the competition over into the first two days of May to include the Irish Graded races at the end of the season it would only be reasonable that we should allow the Irish Graded races on the the 31st of this month to be included. However to be fair to those who do not have a runner involved any points awarded (as with the races on the first days of May) will only count towards the main competition not the monthly competitions.
There has been some confusion over the points awarded for the value of the race so to make it easy for everybody to follow the value of the race will be counted as the value printed in the Racing Post to the winner at the top right of the card. ieThe 2.37 at Down Royal on Friday would be 29,500 so would worth an extra 8 points
The 3.47 at Down Royal on Friday would be 6,490 so would worth an extra 4 pointsHopefully one of these will win and get the ball rolling and it will become self explanatory as we go along but that was probably the kiss of death for those two races….lol.
MikeKeymasterHi
Well we got back on track today with Bannow Blaze for a nice little +14 point profit the only disappointment was it is taking me a little longer than expected to get back in the swing of things as Bannow Blaze was -4.6 this morning so will only make +9.4 points on the main sheet whereas the target was to make 10+ points on each selection.
But that takes us back up to +173.50 points overall with just over two months to go so it would take a near disaster to crash and burn this thread. ? I have nothing now until Thursday but it could be a busy weekend if the declared runners go to post.
With that in mind I will start working on a ridiculous idea for 2026 or with a few members back on possibly a shift in direction of the site. ?
MikeKeymasterHi Suds
That’s one a piece in the kit kat challenge but nice to see both of ours fighting it put at the end (again). A 1 point reverse forecast would have paid over a 15 point profit, we should have put that one down as a bet…lol.
I was wondering when you were going to take the next step with this thread ? but always do theses things at your own pace. I would suggest as you have done quite a bit of work on the data base you utilize the information on that to whittle down the options for your next trainer then add in your nominated jockey/s. ?Oops..for those of you who were confused by the timing of Sudsie’s previous post, someone, (who is typing this right now) forgot to check the sites clock had adjusted to the clocks going back at the weekend.
MikeKeymasterHi
I see the thread is likely to finish in profit for another month (well done) and it has already cost me a Kit Kat. But I see the opportunity to get that back as we have another match on today in the 2.22 at Wexford my Bannow Blaze against your Club Manger.
Best of luck….lol.
MikeKeymasterHi
No joy today but I was getting impatient so it was self inflicted as I dropped 3 points there and am now on +159.50. But we have one from the list tomorrow over at Wexford.2.22 Bannow Blaze @ 100-30 for 4 places. Unfortunately although placing for us last time out he is still in a deficit and will cost us 3.5 points each way which is a 7 point drop if he fluffs his lines and misses the frame altogether.
MikeKeymasterHi
Thanks for that Rob I have contacted APm (Andy) as he is abroad on holiday and he will go with Ballyburn from the list.
MikeKeymasterHi
I am not getting many runners lately so will introduce a new one at Wexford tomorrow.1.40 Sea Eagle @ 6-1
MikeKeymasterHi
Only the one return last week but at least it was a reasonable shout at 7-2. No return on the lottery so another no score draw but I am more confident this week but then again…..lol.Ospreys -7 to beat Dragons @ 10-11
Galway 1.53 Kibris @ 6-5
Newbury 3.10 Time To Turn @ 3-1
Galway 5.18 Premier Rogue @ 4-1
Bournmouth to beat Notts Forest @ 4-5
Sungjae Im to win the Genesis Championship @ 5-1This weeks lottery numbers are 4,7,16,23,26 ad 50
MikeKeymasterHi
For those who might have noticed I have just grown a pair and switched back to my original list by replacing William Munny (a proven horse) with another (could be anything horse) Daydream Nation. Feel free to change anything you want but please let me know by Tuesday latest as I am creating a spreadsheet for the runners and listing them on a horse tracker to help try and keep track of them.
The first draft of the spreadsheet indicates we have a lot of “Old Romantics” entered as Love Me Tender is the most selected horse in the competition with 5 picks. The next are Bambino Fever, Final Demand, Dino Blue, Sir Gino and The New Lion with 4 votes a piece.
There are currently 52 horses in total and we will throw out some £5 monthly free bets for the list with the highest points total and the most winners. However they must be used as a win bet on that persons list during the competition (as we want to keep the interest going). Any winnings after the initial free bet has been used can be re-invested again on there selections and as a win bet but the stakes can then be split (or cashed in at anytime by those concerned).
The details are sketchy as to what happens when there is a tie etc but we are working on that one but in effect it would form a separate bit of fun on the side to see who can accumulate the best profit (if any) by the end of the competition.
MikeKeymasterHi
Slight change of plan as we are now awarding extra points in the graded races but here we go.Daydream Nation
Good’n’Kind
Irancy
Jade De Grugy
July Flower
Kala Conti
Kowaboongo
Love Me Tender
Lulamba
Mister Gif
Quai De Bourbon
The Yellow Clay
MikeKeymasterHi
That’s just about everybody (I think) I have just finished updating the data base and will post my list this afternoon. I will start checking for non runners and injuries etc but if anyone spots any let me know. The competition starts in just under a week so if anyone wishes to change any selections let me know by Monday if possible.
We will work something fun out for a monthly and overall prize etc just to keep it interesting. ?? -
