MikeKeymasterHi
No placepot yesterday but at £11,050.70 to a £1 stake I am pretty sure not many people did…lol.
But from our perspective with most of the big guns coming unstuck it did us a favour as it made Golden Ace a winner coming in at 25-1. This saved the day as we had not backed the only other winner form the list Kopek Des Bordes as it was too short a price. Of the double figure prices we had gone with William Munny advised @ 12-1, The Short Go 11-1 and Hot Fuss (taken @ 10-1) all placed. Joyeuse, Broadway Boy and Sony Bill all lost but it was decent enough start to the festival albeit a tad lucky.
Unfortunately its now confession time my main bet on Golden Ace was backed at 10-1 without Constitution Hill but racing is all about coulda, shoulda, woulda.
Today see’s me back on baby watch but today’s bets apart from our ante post ones (already mentioned in previous posts) are taken from our late wager last night on Resplendent Grey. It only placed again but so impressed was I with the run given by Sen Bowen I will be taking a punt on his rides today for the thread.
He has the following going all for different but respected yards and all look decent each way shouts.2.40 Might I @ 40-1 or 33-1 for 8 places with skybet
3.20 The Goffer @ 16-1 or 14-1 for 5 or 12-1 for 6 skybet
4.40 Western Zephyr @ 40-1 for 5 or 33-1 for 6 skybet
5.20 Heads Up @ 33-1 or 28-1 for 5 places skybetI have put the extra place options up as at Cheltenham they are usually the best option when dealing with long shots at big prices.
MikeKeymasterHi
Unfortunately I am a bit pushed for time today as priorities take place (I am about to be come a grandad and am on standby) but we will put a placepot down utilizing our selections for the first day of the festival. At the very least you will know what we are backing, we have had to put a short priced supposedly bankers in but such is life. Some have already been placed Winning Post Tips but a few are new options. We have kept it simple with 2 selections in each race for the first day.1.20 Kopek Des Bordes
1.20 William Munny
2.00 L’eau Du Sud
2.00 Majborough
2.40 Broadway Boy
2.40 The Short Go
3.20 Jade De Grugy
3.20 Joyeuse
4.00 Constitution Hill
4.00 Golden Ace
4.40 Sony Bill
4.40 Hot Fuss
MikeKeymasterHi
The inevitable happened yesterday and we dropped -4.5 points but in the light of the start the thread has had this month that is easily recovered. My concern has always been Cheltenham as it is has been a graveyard for some of the guest threads over the years but hopefull has manged not to get drawn into the hype so its looks promising today. Here are the prices…..13:38 SEDGEFIELD Inferno Sacree @ 4-1
15:20 CHELTENHAM Lossiemouth @ 8-11
16:18 SEDGEFIELD Ladronne @ 9-4
19:15 SOUTHWELL-AW Hammer The Hammer @ 1-4
E/W AND PLACE
14:40 CHELTENHAM Guard Your Dreams @ 66-1 for 7 or option B 50-1 for 7 places

MikeKeymasterHi
Gala Marceau is the other one going for the thread it is priced up at 50-1 but we will go with 14-1 for 3 places betting without both Lossiemouth & Jade De Grugy.
MikeKeymasterHi

MikeKeymasterHi
Phew…With BOG in place we got lucky with the prices Seskin Flash came fourth @ 14-1 and Comanche Moon placed fifth @ 28-1 however we were a tad unlucky with the 4yo King Of The Bronx who finished 7th when we wanted 6th. But we finished +4.40 points up on the day which could have been a lot worse.
Here is the full list to date as we will not update it again until after Cheltenham.Happy Me -0.2 points

MikeKeymasterHi
I think I have been a bit remiss here as I have just had an e-mail chat with Hopefull and he was asking whether the thread was back in profit as we had a bit of hard time a while back. I say remiss as I have not had the time to go back through all the figures or keeping a running total as it was initially a trial thread but the thread is now well up profit wise and here is a quick summary of this month +8.6, +5.6, +5.5, – 4, +11.11, -6, +10.04 and + 35.48 = +65.18 (which is an incredible achievement).
The thread was a slow starter and has had its blips but is now a proven winner as far as we are concerned and it will be interesting to see how far it goes with Cheltenham around the corner as that meeting is notorious for upsetting the apple cart.
MikeKeymasterHi
Well if yesterday was a good day at the office for Hopefull’s thread today was a cracker. The “Rolling Maul” wager had two winners and came out with a +4.88 profit. The icing on the cake however was Love Your Work winning at 25-1 in the last bet of the day. This turned the “Each Way” section of the selections into a +30.6 point profit making a +35.48 point profit on the day.13:42 AYR Crest Of Fortune @ 5-4 Won
14:17 AYR Dance Thief @ 9-2
16:20 HEREFORD Greatness Awaits @ 5-4 Won
E/W AND PLACE
17:05 WHAMPTON-AW Monsieur Beaulieu @ 8-1 for 4 places Placed
20:00 CHELMSFORD-AW Love Your Work @ 25-1 for 4 places WonI will not be around a lot tomorrow so will post tomorrow’s prices tonight but it’s a hats off to Hopefull day today and well done for sticking with it. It has not always been plain sailingbut I am sure Hopefull is now on top this not just because of today but if you have been following the thread there is no comparison between the early weeks of this thread and the last ten days or so.
7:20 NAAS Switch From Diesel @ 13-8
E/W AND PLACE
16:58 WARWICK Duke Of Deception @ 5-1
MikeKeymasterHi
Batman Girac trailed in last 57 lengths behind the field and Queen Of Seduction pulled up for the second time in a row and we could be in spot of bother there. We have one non runner tomorrow and all three of the remaining selections run against each other in the 3.10 at Naas.
King Of The Bronx @ 14-1
Seskin Flash @ 14-1
Comanche Moon @ 10-1
Fortuntely there are 6 places on offer and we have BOG (Best Odds Guaranteed) on all the runners.
MikeKeymasterHi
Its been a bit like that lately, but with Grimaud winning along with Innatendue and Joya Del Mar placing we would have wiped our nose on the day so it looks like its all eyes on Cheltenham next week unless I have missed something. ?
MikeKeymasterHi
Although there were no returns all of the above ran well and were worth a try as wild card wagersGowran Park 2.10 Bop Won’t Stop 20-1 (placed 5th without Grimaud)
Gowran Park 3.15 Cozone @ 25-1 for 5 places (finished 8th of 20 runners at 33-1)
Gowran Park 4.25 Dutch Shultz @ 20-1 for 4 places (placed 5th we needed 4th)We probably will not be back until the festival next week now where we will be mainly on the threads mentioned on the previous post.
MikeKeymasterHi
We have placed quite a few reasonably sensible wagers on the threads such as Speed Ratings Irish Hurdlers , Hopefull’s (hard work) & Ridiculous Ideas for 2025 but have been asked to put a few fun wild card wagers up and these are the best we can come up with today that have not been used on the above mentioned threads. These selections have had input from both Suds and Hopefull who rarely post on the main thread but it can be a daunting task so if they lose it’s my fault for posting them but if they run well its down to the team…lol.Gowran Park 2.10 Bop Won’t Stop 20-1 but @ 14-1 without Grimaud
Gowran Park 3.15 Cozone @ 25-1 for 5 places
Gowran Park 4.25 Dutch Shultz @ 20-1 for 4 places
MikeKeymasterHi
Even though unbelievably “That’ll Do Moss” lost (eventual SP 1-10) by using the Rolling Maul it rather played into our hands and made for a good day at the office for Hopefull yesterday. The Maul made a profit of albeit only a point or so due to rule 4 deductions on the 7.30 at Dundalk but the each way wagers made a +10.4 point profit due to Nobody’s Perfect winning taken at 12-1.
Here are todays prices for Hopefull’s list of selections today.13:42 AYR Crest Of Fortune @ 5-4
14:17 AYR Dance Thief @ 9-2
16:20 HEREFORD Greatness Awaits @ 5-4
