Well it seemed as though it was a lot of hard work for little reward yesterday and with Kazakh going down but Star Pupil winning you would have made a small profit of +1.7 points on the day and that is the name of the game.

Just a quick update to say the best price we can get on Kadys Dirha betting without the top two is 4-1 but we will settle for that as it gives us the prices we required for our doubles. As a footnote Tiffanys Girl is one to keep an eye on for future reference but 10-1 for 6 looks the best option today.

Hello Jack placed Workinonadream won and I thought Slieve Annilog had placed but unfortunately there had been a non runner which means we only got the one double which is the difference between profit and loss on the day. We are going to Cork tomorrow and have the following selections lined up.

We have enough time before tonight’s racing to update the thread so far to show you how the rolling maul works (each time you win you increase your stakes). There are other ways of working this bet but this is the simplest form of the idea.
Theonewedreamof 1 point @ 3-1 lost = -1
Ideal Des Brosses without Muskoka 1 point @ 7-4 won = -0.25 (stake goes up to 2 points)
Benmore without Juventus De Brion 2 points @ 13-8 lost = -2.25
Eternal Angel 2 points @ 1-3 lost = -4.25
Rattling Road 2 points @ 6-4 won = -1.25 (stake goes up to 3 points)
Workinonadream without Swing Davis 3 points @ 5-4 won = +2.50 (stake goes up to 4 points)
Kazakh without One Horse Town and Kev 4 points @ 4-1
Now comes squeaky bum time as with the final selction Arcadian Nights being a non runner and Kazakh being a big drifter if Kazkh comes in we are up for the day (no matter what) and have 5 points going on Star Pupil @ 4-6 if he loses we will be -1.5 with 4 points going on Star Pupil to get us back in profit for the day.

As the thread has been a little quiet of late and even though Jikala did indeed get placed for a small profit the other day, Hopefull sent me an e-mail last night with the following list of selections for today.

The idea being can we do something with them(as they are shorter prices) apart from the obvious doubles and trebles which in this case would be option A. The only option we can think of is to use the rolling maul system which have used in the past (with some success) to see if we can build up the stakes to form an accumulator.
We will try it out and compare the returns tonight or tomorrow morning just to see what happens. For those unfamiliar with the rolling maul system this will be a useful example thread. Firstly we need to ensure we have obtained the optimum chance of a win as these will all be win bets. We do this by giving an edge to the proposed selections that are not at the head of the betting market by betting without the favourite/s. The tricky part will then be getting our first winner to start the maul off but once going you then have the option of driving forward or going sideways by splitting your stakes but you cannot take a backward step….lol.
Hopefully you will get the idea as the day progresses. The first bet is Theonewedreamof at 3-1 with Skybet. The second bet would then be Ideal Des Bordes @ 7-4 betting without Muskoka (bet365) then Benmore @ 13-8 without Juventus De Brion etc etc.

That was always the worry today as you never two good days on the bounce but we were not too disappointed as we had a 9-1 winner in Falcon Park and Addragoole should have easily placed had the horse taken a tumble at the last fence. Beautiful Chaos finished fourth we wanted 3rd and Johnny Cakes was backed down to 9-4 favourite from 12-1 but unfortunately did not land the gamble.
We have a few over at Fairyhouse tomorrow but will be waiting for some options before going in

As trials go we had no returns but strangely we are quite happy with the predictions as when the each way extras came out you could have got a price on Titanium for ten places (he came tenth). As for the rest the only horse that upset the apple cart for our other suggestion was Brave Brigadier as we forecast the top four as being

Hence if Don’tstopthemusic had not fallen at the last we would have had four of the top five at a good spread of prices.
