Apologies for late update car problems and then Ask The Chimneys became a non runner so I decided not to have a punt at all today. Then bet365 offered 100-1 for 4 places on Runway Queen and being pathetically weak willed I took it. Runway Queen is not going to win this, but as she was running on last time out, over a shorter trip, she just might grab fourth if a couple of these do not run to form.

Unfortunately I could not stay awake to watch the finish as old age does not come alone. 🙁 However I am glad to report that in the end Chris Gotterup finished a very creditable 4th which means all three of our bets returned a profit. 🙂

125-1 1/5 odds each way 8 places = profit of +24 points
75-1 1/5 odds each way 12 places (no cash out option) = profit of +14 points
100-1 1/5 odds each way 5 places first round leader = profit of +125 points

This makes a rather tasty return in total of +163 points. We try to avoid mentioning cash on this site and the returns here are calculated at a simple 1 point each way bet.

I am obviously on cloud nine as these are the bets you live for and combined with an decent shout on the Winning Post Tips thread at the weekend it has been a nice few days at the office. 🙂

It is getting interesting at the moment as with just a few holes to go our man Chris is now tied for third place which would bring both of our outstanding bets in for place money.  🙂
However, should the front two leaders have a panic attack we are statistcally still in with a chance of a win.
Anyone fancy the 4,000-1 for that to happen. ???…lol.

It was nice to get one in today as Morepowertoya won and having been advised last night at 20-1 then backed this morning at 18-1 it turned out to be a cracking shout.  🙂
We do not have much on then, until most likely the big race next Friday at Kilbeggan. We do however have a couple of huge longshots to be used in the extra markets (if they run) tomorrow night at Roscommon.

6.00 Ask The Chimneys 100-1
6.30 Runway Queen 100-1

We will be waiting until the non runners and extra markets are declared before deciding on the above, but at present Runway Queen is a possibility, if we can get an extra place or edge somewhere.

Elle Dorado Rock is a non runner but still leaves eight in the field so the three places are still on offer. We have now missed the 20-1 but will take the following bet, as it still offers some value.

Hello Jumeirah was a non runner and I wish I Elegant Lass had been as having been up with the leaders she went to pieces two out and finshed out with the washing. 🙁
I have a handful of runners for tomorrow to keep an eye on but all are running in the same maiden race at Tramore. This makes tipping one up near impossible but of Open The Gate, College Causeway, Elle Dorado Rock and Morepowertoya we will keep an eye on the latter.
The race is the 2.00 and assuming at least 8 runners stay in the race we will be going for Morepowertoya currently on offer at 20-1. We will update this in the morning when the non runners have been declared.

We are on a bit of a roll this week and have just had a 100-1 winner on the ‘Other Sports’ thread and hopefully will attempt a decent priced wager over here as soon as the Irish NH season restarts. 🙂
In the meantime an extra each way double might be worth a punt on the above selections.
Hello Jumeirah has some solid form and is stepping up in trip on her handicap debut hails from the very shrewd Haggas yard and has Danny Tudhope doing the steering.
Elegant Lass pops up from time to time and I believe a return to Bellewstown where she is one from one might just do the trick. If nothing else she is overpriced and should be there or thereabouts.

Thanks Joe, now they are running again its nice to get a couple in the frame at a decent price. We just need to get one home now.  🙂
General Clermont advised at 30-1 picked us up a nice few points again today, but in fairness more or less just did what we predicted and got involved without threatening to win.
We do have a couple for Saturday, but as I have a lot on tonight and have a busy day at work tomorrow we will have to give Friday a miss.  🙁

South East Star placed fourth at 40-1 and although best odds guaranteed was in place there was also a small rule 4 deduction, but we still cleared a nice little profit the day.  🙂  Another 100 yards and we might have got a win here, but we have probably lost the element of surprise when he goes back hurdling.
We have a nice bunch of runners coming up over the next few days but as for tomorrow we will try another small each way on the following runner over at Tipperary. Our selection here is a solid although limited handicapper, who is returning to hurdles after a stint over the jumps but looks overpriced and should get involved.

We had five of the six legs up in today’s placepot including the banker but missed leg 3  🙁
On a brighter note we have a return of the the Irish NH racing in a few days which means we can hopefully get back to business shortly.
In the meantime one of our runners is turning out on the flat tomorrow at Tipperary. There are two options here, it is either a prep race for a hurdles run in a few weeks time or they think a spin back on the flat (off a decent handicap mark) is worth a try.
It would be worth checking the markets in the morning to see if anyone fancies this one, but as it looks a decent price tonight we will risk a small punt.

Chris Gotterup did indeed get through to the last round but could only finish in T28 (joint 28th) so no return this time. However he played four really solid rounds and as we have put him up as a player to follow we will go in again in a few days in the John Deere Classic.
This would be the equivalent of dropping in class and with a lot of the big guns missing from this tournament the following prices are on offer if you fancy a dabble.

Just to keep the ball rolling I will throw in a placepot at Roscommon today using the following numbers. Minimum stakes advised so as to only risk a few of our hard points. The bet will total 32x bets (2x1x2x2x2x2 = 32) hopefully you will get the idea by now how this bet works.

Leg 1 Numbers 5 + 8
Leg 2 Number 4
Leg 3 Numbers 6 + 10
Leg 4 Numbers 7 + 11
Leg 5 Numbers 6 + 12
Leg 6 Numbers 1 + 2

The ground today will rule out a lot of the runners and this set of selections will hopefully bring about a small return on the day. I am hoping for no more non runners as we currently have a good spread of places on offer in all the races. 🙂

Rob’s Rajinsky placed fourth at 8-1 today so he has more or less kept himself onside with his selections. 🙂
My placepot bit the dust early doors and I am afraid it will most likely be well into next week before my beloved Irish NH racing returns (but patience is a virtue).  🙁
Also with most of the gliches sorted out the site will be reset soon. So those wishing to chance a dabble at tipping should do so now.
