RobmullParticipantHi Folks,
I have a couple of selections for Friday.
3.00 Goodwood – LAWFUL COMMAND 0.5 pts each way at 14/1 with William Hill (7 places)
6.35 Galway – BABY ZEUS 0.5 pts each way at 14/1 with Bet365 (5 places).
Rob.
RobmullParticipantHi Folks,
I was disappointed with MY MATE MOZZIE, not because he was beaten, which is just a fact that has to be accepted when backing horses, but I had chosen him as his past performances had suggested that he was likely to be given a prominent position, which is often beneficial over course and distance, but instead was held up and never got into the race.
RobmullParticipantHi Mike,
Thanks for the link to the article, which I have previously read. I fully understand why many punters swerve chases due to an increased risk of non completions, but I have always worked on the basis that some I will win and some I will lose and as the majority of my NH profits are achieved over fences, I am inclined to accept the additional risks.
All the best.
Rob.
RobmullParticipantHi Folks,
Jumping is the name of the game, but I wonder what would have happened had FIRE ATTACK not fallen when leading and still going well at the fifth last fence in the Galway Plate?
Shame that we will never know.
Rob.
RobmullParticipantHi Folks,
5.05 Galway (Thursday)
MY MATE MOZZIE appears to have plenty in his favour and can hopefully reward each way support at 9/1 with William Hill (7 places).
Rob.
RobmullParticipantHi Folks,
Was unable to login yesterday afternoon and as suspected my Galway Plate selection has been tipped up by Pricewise. I secured 0.5pts each way on FIRE ATTACK at 8/1 with William Hill (7 places), albeit 15/2 is now the best odds available for 7 places.
All the best.
Rob.
RobmullParticipantHi Folks,
I was planning to offer up PIERE LAPPIN in the 6.40 at Galway tonight, but unfortunately my thoughts have coincided with PRICEWISE and whilst I still think the horse has a fair chance, there is no value in backing him around 6/1, when 14/1 was available yesterday afternoon.
I shall post my selection for the Galway Plate before 6pm tonight, as I suspect my thoughts will again coincide with PRICEWISE, so again the odds will be slashed.
Rob.
RobmullParticipantHi Mike,
Well done with DARKENED, on which I was able to secure a reasonable each way bet.
FAROUT ran well under the circumstances, but may have been done better if held up and ridden for luck.
Rob.
RobmullParticipantHi Folks,
6.40 Galway (Monday)
FAROUT 0.5 pts each way at 7/1 with Paddy Power (6 places).
All the best.
Rob.
RobmullParticipantHi Mike,
Thanks for your kind words, but I would point out that I have never thought of myself as a professional, just an enthusiastic amateur.
Please don’t sit back, as you have a real gift for finding profitable selections at big odds, which is an area that I have never mastered.
All the best.
Rob.
RobmullParticipantThanks Joe,
I hope you had a few quid each way on them both.
Overall, I picked up 4.20 pts profit on GALE FORCE MAYA and got my money back on DARK SHIFT.
My next selection will be on Monday in the QR handicap at Galway.
All the best.
Rob.
RobmullParticipantHi Folks,
3.00 Ascot
DARK SHIFT who is a straight course Ascot specialist and is reasonably priced at 5/1 BOG with William Hill (7 places).
2.30 York
GALE FORCE MAYA who is a course and distance winner and has won each of her last 4 starts in Class 2 handicaps and is currently 7/1 BOG with William Hill (5 places).
I would suggest 0.5 pt each way singles on each.
All the best.
Rob.
RobmullParticipantHi Mike,
Well done with your last couple of selections.
I may have a couple of selections for Saturday and will be posting some thoughts for both the Galway and Goodwood festivals next week.
All the best.
Rob.
RobmullParticipantHi Folks,
A couple of selections for Saturday:
3.30 Newcastle – RAJINSKY 0.5 pt each way either with William Hill at 11/2 BOG for 7 places, or B365 at 6/1 BOG for 6 places – I prefer the former option.
3.45 Curragh – TUESDAY 1 pt win at 7/4 BOG with either Betfair, or Paddy Power.
All the best,
Rob.
