MikeKeymasterHi
Apologies in advance but as it is the last day of the season Sunday I am going in with 4 football bets.Man United to beat Brighton @ 11-4
Fulham to beat Newcastle @ 9-5
Everton to beat Tottenham @ 14-5
Sunderland to draw with Chelsea @ 27-10
Curragh 3.40 Distant Storm @ 9-2
Bangor 4.45 Jetty May @ 4-1The lottery numbers are the usual 4,7,16,23,26 and 50.
MikeKeymasterHi
J’envoivalserenti never really got involved and dropped us a point which puts us back to +17.24 and as per usual this time of year there is not much happening. But we do have two each way extra’s going tonight which we will try in a long shot 1/2 point each way double @ 135.5 -1Downpatrick 5.52 The Dancen Kid @ 9-2 without both Sea Of Doubt & Centaq
Worcester 8.11 Butchers Bill @ 20-1 without both Ice Jet & Snapius
MikeKeymasterHi Rob
Two winners from two bets but especially well done with Caballo De Mar (that was some finish to a race with five across the track as they crossed the line). Also duly noted that the race distance ties in with your previous posts about the way forward.
It would appear the tipping on here has gone crazy lately with the eventual SP of your Caballo De Mar being 18-1 and Steve on the In for a penny in for a pound thread pulling in a hatful of double figure winners @ 16-1 etc I will have to put my gardening tools back in the shed and get busy….lol.
MikeKeymasterHi
This one is a bit risky but looks overpriced and being only a extra markets horse is not going to break the bank at 1/2 point each way. Jockey booking stands out and if staying on his feet looks sure to be involved.
Huntingdon 8.30 (tonight) j’envoivalserenti 9-1 but @ 5-1 for 3 places looks a shot to nothing.
MikeKeymasterHi
A question arose recently in chatting with Steve over the contentious issue of the going on the day at specific courses etc. We all know this can be a lottery and we all probably have our own set of adjustments. Ours works for us (in the main) but obviously we are using a figure/adjustment based on the last five years results over Irish Hurdle races. This also means we are in the main working on a set of longer distances namely between 2m & 2m 5f with the occasional 3m thrown in. The obvious issue is when say a horse runs over say the minimum trip of 5f how much will this be a factor as opposed to a plodder going on a 3 mile trek.
I sense some serious maths coming on here is it a question of race distance or race time ( as in contact with the ground) or should I just get a life or start taking more water with it….lol
MikeKeymasterHi Rob
It took me thirty years to do the same hence most all of our racing is now Irish Hurdle Racing. We are actually looking at extending this to include NHF so there is a possibility we will overlap somewhere. ? As for April to the end of October tell me about it I spend most of my time in the garden but strangely stepping away from the computer screen and racing papers is usually where I get most of my off the wall ridiculous ideas from.
As an example I was chatting with Steve about the problems of the ground conditions and then when re-potting some plants came up with the ridiculous idea of how long horses actually spend in contact with the ground etc (that will be on the Bletchley Park thread next..lol).
Also as for being a “marginally successful punter” in all the years I have known or followed your work I don’t seem to remember you not come out on the plus side. ?
MikeKeymasterHi Steve
It simply does not get any better than that. 😊 Well done 👍
MikeKeymasterHi
Suds and I have been dabbling with an idea for another thread but as it involved trainers thought we would trial a test bet out on here with the following.Naas 2.26
Far From Dandy
Jagged Edge
Vega’s Music
Bella Isabella
Dark Viper
All for a top 7 finish @ 125-1 (bet365 25% included)
MikeKeymasterHi
I have been relegated to the second division by the successful antics of our two other current threads In for a penny in for a pound & QUALITY RACING 2026 but we still battle on and it is nice to see all of our in play topics showing a profit.
As for this one The Dancen Kid went on to be first past the post but unfortunately the race had not started and he left the jockey at the start line…lol. But at least he did not come under starters orders so was a non runner. Comanche Moon let us down but Fighting Falcon won so we came out +3.2 points up on the day and now stand at +18.24.
There is no racing for me until the end of next week unless one pops up across the water so it will give us a chance to work on updates etc.
MikeKeymasterHi Steve
Another cracking bit of tipping there I really thought you had that one in the bag approaching the line. But such is life and it certainly looks to me like you have cracked it. To get one double figure winner in might be considered lucky but to have a 16-1 winner followed by a 14-1 winner topped off with a 11-1 second by a short head is something special.
The fact that all of these have been part of a system that has has been knocking on the door for the last month or so also proves consistency and that is the name of the game. Well done…!
MikeKeymasterHi
I still cannot see any decent extra market offers on out there and now have to go out for most of the day so will take the following as all of them are moving positively price wise and if little else BOG is now available on all of them.Wexford 2.40 The Dancen Kid @ 16-1 for 4 places
Wexford 3.15 Comanche Moon @ 8-1 for 4 places
Uttoxeter 7.55 Fighting Falcon @ 7-1 for 4places
MikeKeymasterHi
My fault last week I was feeling a bit under the weather and tried football bets because it took up less brain power. This meant that Suds and Steve both had winners but I failed to add to the tally.
But with no return on the lottery we claim a no score draw again and go back to normal this week.Ospreys +22.5 to beat Leinster @ 4-5
Newbury 2.00 Golden Orbit @ 6-4
Newmarket 4.37 The Joker @ 9-2
Wexford 4.25 Suoersundae @ 2-1
Newmarket 5.10 Wrydcroft @ 11-10
Navan 5.15 Genchev @ 11-10The lottery numbers are the usual 4,7,16,23,26 and 50.
MikeKeymasterHi
We have three each way extra possibilities tomorrow which are as followsWexford 2.40 The Dancen Kid 28-1
Wexford 3.15 Comanche Moon 11-1
Uttoxeter 7.55 Fighting Falcon 10-1We have nothing this evening but will update with a bet or two sometime in the morning.
MikeKeymasterHi
We Finally we had a “To Follow” horse Loi Des Jeux actually run and win after rule 4 deductions he brought us in +12.15 Charlies Gift placed for +.0.38 but then the day went south with the other two pulling up or tailing off. The bonus on the day for me though was that Loi Dex Jeux had been on the minus list having lost when we had previously backed him and its always nice to tick one of those off the list.
We have nothing for tomorrow but will be back on Friday and will be starting with healthier looking +15.02 balance which considering we were in our first deficit a week ago is a huge relief and I might finally get some sleep now…lol -
