There are no To Follow horses today but Miss Mini Bee is an extra markets horse and Hillstar Blues won for us in the Ridiculous Ideas for 2025 thread but is now stepping up in trip and may help us out again.

I was going to bypass this one today as he was 9-2 last night and technically is a bet builder/ extra markets horse but I can now get 17-2 for 4 places this morning so will take a punt.

Surprise, surprise I finally had a runner that troubled the judge. Daydream Nation won at 11-2 and including the bonus points gave me +9.5 on the day and makes me the only point scorer this month (to date). This will only last for a few days but I will take my five minutes of fame as its all I am going to get…lol.
The next runners are likely to be next week when all the big guns come out and it should be a very interesting week and I will update the scores each day as although there is still Punchestown to come Cheltenham could well decide the competition.

It’s slow but sure progress at the moment with the the extra market wagers dropping -0.29 overall due to Urbs Intacta Manet and Danny the Champ not performing, but The Dancen Kid saving the day by making the frame.
The Bet builder came in though for a +5.50 which gave us +5.31 for the day and gets us up to +20.11 overall. There is nothing for tomorrow but we have a few declared later in the week.

The Dancen Kid has attracted some support but Danny the Champ although looking friendless at present still might spring a surprise so we will go in with the bet builder.
Therefore although a bit risky (as we already have 3 points laid out) both to finish in the top 9 looks a reasonable shout at 11-2.

Its hats off to G (Mgame) this month with an incredible 7 wins and the first player to hit over 100 points in a month (although with Cheltenham this month that should happen again).
The monthly points totals are as follows

The bets are all still £5 win bets but can be without the favorites etc on a horse running from your list. The exception being if you manage to convert your free bets to cash you can then split your stakes but the bet must still be win bets on the runners from your list.

This one is not going to be popular but is declared to run in the Pertemps fits the bill and could still be literally anything.The selection is Absolutely Doyen this one has been a revelation since joining the Nicholls Yard and has yet to be put under any pressure but you can only beat what is in front of you and having made hay off a light mark may still have more to offer.
The last run has made sure he is rated high enough to get in and I am surprised he was not rated a little higher.
However at 14-1 for 4 places he completes the first part of the jigsaw that is the Handicap Hurdle races over the festival. I have deliberately targeted those 5 races as I will now be looking to put up my usual 5 horse each way doubles and accumulator option as the next step.
I will be looking into the other races at Cheltenham but the Irish hurdling scene has been my main target this year and I will be looking forward to the Punchestown Festival in April where we hope to finish the season off with a bang.

With the festival just around the corner it will be tricky to play catch up with the other threads so I will post a quick summery of this threads results to date.

To Follow Horses (Hurdlers) +17.55 points
To Follow Horses (Chasers) -1 point
Bet Builders -3.70 points
Extra Market Wagers +1.95
Total to Date +14.80 points

This is better than the last update and should have been much higher but I had to play safe to steady the ship when the thread got off to bad start. This involved not backing a couple of short priced ones which duly trotted up but such is life. The aim is still to back To Follow horses to win 10+ points. Bet builders are still 1 point unless otherwise stated and Extra Market wagers are flexible but usually involve 1 point options.

The To Follow horses are obviously the most profitable but no surprise there as that is just a continuation of the Ridiculous Ideas for 2025 thread. So far we have had 3 go in….

I will get the usual friendly advise to drop bet builders etc but the idea is to expand the use of the data base and I am still confident of turning the other sections around. The To Follow Chase horses are not providing many runners but we will stick with the premise.

I thought I had pulled off a bet builder as well but think I took my eye off the rest of of the field jumping two out…lol. But it was nice to get another one of the To Follow horses home as if Harty Cup had lost I would have dropped 9 points (including the bet builder) and this would have taken me back to -4. As it stands we got our 10 point target (actually +10.80) today but lost the point on the bet builder so we finished +9.80 up on the day.
This leaves us on +14.80 in total and with nothing going until possibly the 2nd March that will give me time to try and replenish the list with a few new horses. I will also break the bets down into there new sections To Follow, Bet builder etc and post them to show how the new extended thread is panning out.

I won’t lie that was squeaky time for me as I rarely watch them live but having missed the early price when I said expensive earlier I would have been stung personally and also for the thread, if Harty Cup had not hit the frame. The fact that he won has also restored my faith in the system and I will update the thread later when I have the full result for the bet builder as well….Phew.
