Hi Rob
To be honest Kitty Galore is one we follow and has done the thread proud over the last few years winning at 22-1 without the favourite back in 2020 and is in theΒ Archived thread, then at 12-1 last year. It was just a question of waiting until she runs off a decent weight as she tends to be a tough heart on her sleeve front runner and I love those types. π
As for your two selections, you do love delving into the most difficult races, that to be honest I find a little to comlicated and would normally sidestep. π But I do like the look of Jesse Evans. I just missed the 14-1 with bet 365 but managed catch the 11-1 still on offer.
The intriguing one for me is Lustown Baba I cannot see anything obvious here but this only serves to make me even more interested. π I will now having looked through the card plump for Andreas Vesalius at 17-2 for 6 places and will watch the race with interest. If I find anything else on Lustown Baba I might be tempted to have a dabble at the 14-1 for 9 places and/or the 17-1 for 8 places with bet365 as it is a tough race.10/09/2022 at 11:34 AM #12434RobmullParticipantHi Mike, have a look at her Soft ground form, draw bias in race and trainer form.
10/09/2022 at 2:00 PM #12435MikeKeymasterHi Rob
I am interested enough to have stopped cutting my hedges and switched on to have a look. π
The money seems to be going on the yards other runner Final Voyage which stands the trainer form argument in good stead but if both run a decent race the now 16-1 for 9 places and/or 19-1 for 8 places on Lustown Baba looks worth a punt.10/09/2022 at 5:52 PM #12436JoeHParticipantThank you Rob for Jesse evans 3rd place ππ»
10/09/2022 at 6:07 PM #12437MikeKeymasterHi
Rob had Jesse Evans placed at 12-1 and could have been so much more, but would still have seen Rob live to fight another day which is the art of the game.Β π I will pop this one in the notebook should he return to hurdling. It would also be interesting to see if he makes the cut for the Ten To Follow competition for the jumps season.Β π10/09/2022 at 6:51 PM #12440MikeKeymasterHi
It is rare for me dabble on the flat but having taken the plunge and confirmed Rob’s selection Jesse Evans today I started looking through tomorrow’s cards. I have come up with a selection at Doncaster but this type of racing is not really my cup of tea, so blame Rob if my selection loses.
3.55 Hoo Ya Mal @ 15-2
This one has done nothing wrong so far that I can see. ? I believe coming second in the Derby last year and although finishing third behind todays favourite two races ago was only two lengths down and the rider dropped his whip a furlong out. Hoo Ya Mal had a comfortable win last time out and looks a solid each way shout in my book. Why do I get a feeling of impending doom now. π
Only joking about blaming you Rob. π11/09/2022 at 6:57 PM #12443MikeKeymasterHi
Well now you know why I stick to the Irish NH scene . πΒ This is going to be a funny week with a lot of sport being postsponed or cancelled and my only opportunity for probably the next ten days will be Sligo midweek. I will try my best to come up with a bet if at all possible.Β π14/09/2022 at 7:19 AM #12447MikeKeymasterHi
Not much at Sligo today but I do have a few lined up for Downpatrick later in the week.
For those desperate to lose some money here are two possibilites today but beware of non runners reducing the fields, as these are both each way shouts for a minimum of three places.2.35 Custers Mistake @ 10-1 for 3 places
3.45 Quaker Island @ 10-1 for 3 placesBoth are best odds guaranteed but watch those places.
15/09/2022 at 7:41 PM #12451MikeKeymasterHi
Well I did say only if you are desperate to lose some money yesterday.Β πΒ Neither really got in contention and we are still struggling to come up with a shout tomorrow. But if we can get an extra place we will have a dabble at Roman Parish @ 33-1 in the 1.50 at Downpatrick. Failing that this one will make for a definate each way extra bet when the markets are published.16/09/2022 at 1:10 PM #12457MikeKeymasterHi
Roman Parish has been taken at 17-1 for 8 places and 21-1 for 7 places. There are options such as 27-1 for 6 places but for the thread we will hit the first two options.
Roman Parish is sporting a first time tongue tie and has the inform Sean Flanagan in the saddle.16/09/2022 at 9:05 PM #12458MikeKeymasterHi
Roman Parish did us proud today finishing sixth which brought all three bets in even though we can only claim the first two for the thread. This means anyone taking all three bets would have cleared a +10 point profit and we cleared a +5.6 point profit for the thread.
There is only the one wager for tomorrow and it is on the flat so be careful. But I honestly believe that Popmaster in the 3.40 at Ayr is a solid each way shout at 11-1 for 7 places.17/09/2022 at 8:31 PM #12475MikeKeymasterHi
No joy with Popmaster but I should’nt dabble on the flat (I am just weak willed) π
We are back in Ireland tomorrow at Listowel and will go with Ned The Smith 66-1 in the 3.40 but will take the 23-1 on offer for 6 places.
As an update when going to place the bet, Ned The Smith has started drifting right out indicating we may end up with a non runner, but if not, the 30-1 for 6 places is now looking to be a decent shout.18/09/2022 at 7:46 PM #12480MikeKeymasterHi
Ned The Smith duly finished sixth which means had you taken the early bet you would have come out +3.6 points or +4 points if you had the later price. Well done if you had both. π
We have a couple of each way extras at Listowel tomorrow which are as follows
3.05 Rathnaleen Zoey 66-1 but 20-1 for 8 places and/or 25-1 for 7 places
3.05 Emily In Paris 50-1 but 17-1 for 8 places and/or 22-1 for 7 places
We also have a crazy 100-1 shot which is Masterstonemason in the 5.05 at Listowel. This one is not in the same class as the market leaders but both of those are having there first race over fences and one of them may not perform leaving a place opportunity. There are also question marks over the next two in the market. You will know the fate of this bet at the first fence as the selection has been reluctant to race or hit the first fence on his last four chase starts. He is capable but it a bit of a monkey.Β π
We have other options such as Bynx @ 25-1 in the 2.35 and Marelly @ 33-1 in the 4.05 but we would prefer an extra place etc before committing on these.Β π19/09/2022 at 10:21 AM #12484MikeKeymasterHi
Of our other bets last night Bynx has become a non runner and unfortunately we missed the start of the gamble on Marelly but did manage to catch a bit of the 25-1 before it dissapeared. It is always annoying when this happens but I was busy watching Danny Willet miss a three foot putt to win our golf bet on theΒ Other Sports bet thread. π
I am a terror when this happens and having missed a price and just missed seen a win bet turn into a place return I should know the writing is on the wall for our Listowel wagers today but…. π
Also at Listowel in the 2.35 where Bynx was a non runner there were two other possibilities Rocco’s Inspiration 50-1 but 17-1 for 8 places and Pull the Plug 200-1 but available at 25-1 for 9 places. This means it is one of those rare days here where we could take a caning today but best of luck to all those who are having a dabble. This will be the last post today for obvious reasons until later tonight.
