RobmullParticipantHi Folks,
I was planning to offer up PIERE LAPPIN in the 6.40 at Galway tonight, but unfortunately my thoughts have coincided with PRICEWISE and whilst I still think the horse has a fair chance, there is no value in backing him around 6/1, when 14/1 was available yesterday afternoon.
I shall post my selection for the Galway Plate before 6pm tonight, as I suspect my thoughts will again coincide with PRICEWISE, so again the odds will be slashed.

MikeKeymasterHi Rob
I have sent you a second e-mail (the first one did not get through) which hopefully will cure the glich.
Hi Boys and Girls
I will be switching over to goalposts thread for tonights England v Sweden game to see if I can get that one back on track (before we reset it for the football season). In the meantime for those that cannot resist a wager here were the ones I bypassed.
5.40 Galway Stormey 66-1 but availble @ 26-1 for 5 places
3.00 Goodwood Sir Lancelot 40-1 but available @ 23-1 for 6 places
Both of the above are either returning from a break or are considered too old but both have shown a bit of spark in the past and if either should be supported in the markets they could out run there odds. If I had to choose one Sir Lancelot is a previous winner of this race back in the day and might be the best option.26/07/2022 at 7:38 PM #12037
MikeKeymasterHi
No joy with I Don’t Get It but for those who ventured on the other two Stormey placed 4th so would have stopped the day being a total loss.
There is only one for tomorrow which is back over at Galway. Although this one is the Mullins second string, it looks worth checking out. However beware this one is already a big drifter in the markets tonight.5.40 Feigh @ 40-1 for 6 places.
This one is only a 4yo but has already clocked a decent time and looks a possible improver.

RobmullParticipantHi Folks,
Was unable to login yesterday afternoon and as suspected my Galway Plate selection has been tipped up by Pricewise. I secured 0.5pts each way on FIRE ATTACK at 8/1 with William Hill (7 places), albeit 15/2 is now the best odds available for 7 places.
All the best.

RobmullParticipantHi Folks,
5.05 Galway (Thursday)
MY MATE MOZZIE appears to have plenty in his favour and can hopefully reward each way support at 9/1 with William Hill (7 places).

MikeKeymasterHi
I will also have a dabble in the 5.05 at Galway but am struggling between two of the J P O’Brien runners Celestial Horizon and Prairie Dancer.
However as Priarie Dancer is not guaranteed a run I will try an each way punt on both as bet365 are offering a very generous 33-1 for 6 places on both runners.27/07/2022 at 10:12 PM #12059
RobmullParticipantHi Folks,
Jumping is the name of the game, but I wonder what would have happened had FIRE ATTACK not fallen when leading and still going well at the fifth last fence in the Galway Plate?
Shame that we will never know.

MikeKeymasterHi Rob
At the time of the fall Fire Attack was as low as 3-1 in running and with half a dozen other runners already down or out you looked nailed on for some sort of return. π
In truth, I used to love the big Chase races but having had this happen to me so many times it was a major factor in my switching to the Hurdling scene some years ago. Ridiculously, I would sit there wondering why it only happened to me…lol. I have here a link which you may find interesting it may appeal more to myself as 90% of my bets are Irish NH races, which is where I try (stop lauging now π ) to specialise.
https://www.geegeez.co.uk/why-horses-fall/I have since done a breakdown on the racecourses which I used to post on here which more or less verifies the stats, although luck, always as you know plays its part.

RobmullParticipantHi Mike,
Thanks for the link to the article, which I have previously read. I fully understand why many punters swerve chases due to an increased risk of non completions, but I have always worked on the basis that some I will win and some I will lose and as the majority of my NH profits are achieved over fences, I am inclined to accept the additional risks.
All the best.

RobmullParticipantHi Folks,
I was disappointed with MY MATE MOZZIE, not because he was beaten, which is just a fact that has to be accepted when backing horses, but I had chosen him as his past performances had suggested that he was likely to be given a prominent position, which is often beneficial over course and distance, but instead was held up and never got into the race.

RobmullParticipantHi Folks,
I have a couple of selections for Friday.
3.00 Goodwood – LAWFUL COMMAND 0.5 pts each way at 14/1 with William Hill (7 places)
6.35 Galway – BABY ZEUS 0.5 pts each way at 14/1 with Bet365 (5 places).

MikeKeymasterHi
Celestial Horizon was slowly away and was then quickly pulled up when hampered by a faller half way round. But Prairie Dancer did us proud led from the front and was placed, so made us a few points profit on the day.
As for tomorrow we will have a dabble at the two NH races at Galway again using the following selections.
5.00 Tempo Chapter Two @ 14-1 for 5 places
6.00 Rapid Response @ 18-1 for 7 places
Tempo Chapter Two looks the best bet of the day as having won a decent enough race back in February then ran to form without troubling the judge in a big race at Cheltenham. He then failed to see out three miles next time around and I beleive he was then turned out to quickly, but should be a different proposition tomorrow.29/07/2022 at 5:34 PM #12084
RobmullParticipantHi Folks,
3.20 Goodwood (Saturday)
GREAT AMBASSADOR finished third in this race last year and ran a nice preparatory race when finishing seventh in a Group 3 at Newbury a fortnight ago. Hopefully, he can reward each way support at 10/1 with William Hill (8 places).
Rob.

MikeKeymasterHi
It’s hats off to Rob today who got both of his selections placed whilst both of mine bit the dust. I have no idea what happened to Tempo Chapter Two who was scrubbed along at the start and then pulled up halfway round. π Rapid Response ran well enough but could only get 8th we needed 7th.
I am going straight in with Boothill tonight as Bet365 are showing a very generous 9-1 for 6 places in the 2.30 at Galway tomorrow. Boothill was one of our Ten To Follow competition horses last year and owes us a favour having flattered to decieve in 2021 and this looks to be a decent opportunity for some payback.
I am going off to sort out a silly bet, which I have been working on for a while, which I will post tomorrow morning once the golf has finished for the day and the football odds are out. π -
